Welcome to our website about restorative justice and probation!
We are glad you visited us! Our website is dedicated to both restorative justice, an approach to justice that emphasizes the restoration of broken relationships and the healing of all involved parties, and probation, the supervision of offenders’ behaviour combined with certain elements of assistance. Restorative justice focuses on resolving conflicts and crimes through dialogue, understanding, and cooperation.
Our mission is to raise awareness about restorative justice and provide resources and support for individuals and organizations that want to engage in this transformative process. We believe that restorative justice can contribute to creating a more just and cohesive society.
What can you find on our website?
- Educational Materials: Books, guides, manuals, videos, and podcasts about the principles and practices of restorative justice and probation;
- Stories from Practice: Real stories of people who have experienced restorative justice or probation and their testimonies;
- Civic Activism: A space for broad discussion about the restorative justice movement, sharing experiences, and mutual support.
RJ Week
Every year, in the third week of November, the so-called Restorative Justice Week takes place! (#RJWeek, November 18-23) During this international campaign, individual pioneers and non-profit organizations working in the field of restorative justice organize a series of events to raise awareness about this modern phenomenon. Each year, the European Forum for Restorative Justice (#EFRJ) proposes a specific theme for this week and encourages everyone to participate in the celebrations and awareness-raising activities.
We are proud that even in Slovakia we can celebrate RJ week with the establishment of our organization! Over the next few days, you can look forward to various posts, articles or events celebrating this important concept on our pages. The theme of this year’s RJ Week is: “The Promise of Restorative Justice in a Polarising World”
